The Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology has four laboratories used for development of experimental methods and techniques for investigation of behavior of structures, explosions, wind and other static and dynamic loads. |
Dynamic Testing Laboratory |
| Dynamic Testing laboratory is part od the DYNLAB & INFO department. The primary testing facility in the laboratory is the two-component programmed seismic shaking table for dynamic testing of structures. The laboratory is also equipped with other two shaking tables, material testing frames, equipment for quasi-static testing, data acquisition, acceleration, velocity and displacement transducers. The laboratory is equipped for field measurements, as well. |
Geophysical Laboratory |
| The laboratory is equipped for specialized field measurements in engineering seismology and geophysics, such as seismic refraction, reflection and direct illumination surveys, measurement of micro seismic noise ond geoelectrical resistivity. It provides technical logistics for the activities in the field of Seismology, Geophysics and Ecology as well as data needed for the other departments of the Institute. |
Soil Dynamics Laboratory |
| This laboratory provides data on soil dynamic properties necessary for determining the dynamic strength and stability of soils, the soil liquefaction potential and the soil-structure interaction. In the cooperation with the other laboratories of the Institute, it performs in-situ testing of foundations and foundation models and other specific tests in the field of soil and foundation dynamics. Dynamic testing of large models( earth dams and/or soil-structure arrangements) is performed on the DYNLAB's shaking tables and the related equipment. |
